This small boutique office building will serve as an "intellectual factory" for a risk management company in Arizona. The design represents the different aspects of risk management; the gathering of information (as symbolized by the upper volume), the transcendence of some of that information (as represented by the descending cylindrical element), and its organization and formulization (as indicated by the rectangular main volume). The building will feature north facing clerestory windows and carefully orchestrated fenestration to work with the climate. Construction of phase II is scheduled to be completed this Fall.
We are currently in the design phase for phase III, which consists of an extensive photovoltaic system intended to render the company headquarters power-independent. We are in the process of taking the design from the purely pragmatic to the beautiful, by using innovative ways of providing the sub-structure to install the photo-voltaic system on. More soon.
