CHÂTEAU DES VIGNES
Zeitgeist was engaged by fellow architecture firm SKH Concepts to provide interior design services for this 6,500-square-foot estate residence. We collaborated closely with architect Suresh Hosakoppal, honoring his architectural vision while thoughtfully weaving in elements of Zeitgeist’s signature “Earthy Modernism.” Our team worked to refine the spatial scale of the home, creating a warmer, more intimate atmosphere throughout. From fixtures to finishes, every selection across the residence was curated by Zeitgeist, resulting in a home that deeply resonated with the clients and exceeded their expectations.
While the public spaces were conceived to be grand and awe-inspiring, they initially lacked a sense of comfort and livability. To counter this, we introduced warm, light-toned woods across the flooring, cabinetry, and ceilings, bringing in both tactile warmth and visual softness. Texture played a vital role as well — applied strategically to break up large wall surfaces, enhance acoustics, and reintroduce a handcrafted, analog sensibility.
Long hallways were interrupted with thoughtfully placed niches, while decorative ceiling beams were added to provide rhythm and architectural interest. In the primary bedroom, a hand-applied plaster finish on the fireplace wall draws the eye and invites touch, fostering a more sensory connection with the space. For the primary bathroom, we selected exquisite marble slabs, elevating the bathing experience to one of serene indulgence.
