DESERT THINK TANK

This small boutique office building serves as an "intellectual factory" for a risk management company in Arizona. The design represents the different aspects of risk management: the gathering of information (the upper volume), the transcendence of that information (the descending cylindrical element), and its organization (the rectangular main volume). The building features north-facing clerestory windows and fenestration carefully orchestrated to work with the hot desert climate, as well as an extensive photo-voltaic system intended to render the building power-independent.
