This residence, perched atop a hillside in Healdsburg, was purchased by a sophisticated couple that had recently retired from busy careers. What the house had in views, it lacked in style; it had been left rather untouched since it had been built in the 90s. The new owners asked us to come up with an intervention that added a natural farmhouse style and richness to their new home without feeling forced or trite. We transformed the character of this home with new windows, decorative trim and detailing, and false beams. On the exterior, we replaced heavy fake cobblestones with a board and batten water table, added new garage doors, and selected a new color palette. The result is a sophisticated, contemporary home with farmhouse flair.
